The stick welding process
Electrode arc welding is an arc welding method in which the electrode is manually operated. It uses the stable burning arc established between the welding rod and the welding part to melt the welding rod and the welding part, so as to obtain a strong welding joint. The "rod" of rod welding is a fixed length electrode coated with a metal powder. When electrically heated, the flux produces a shielding gas, while the molten electrode produces a filler material to weld with the base metal. This process works with a flux-coated electrode, eliminating the need to rely on bottled protective gases as in MIG welding or TIG welding. Therefore, this is why bonding is often the process of choice in remote and difficult environments.
Stick welding may produce a large splash, after welding is completed there is a layer of welding slag on the surface of the weld, so some cleaning is usually done. The final result varies according to the skill of the welder, but it must be said that stick welding does not usually produce the most attractive welds, and the quality of the welds depends heavily on the skill and play of the welder. However, the characteristics of the weld can be changed by selecting different flux coatings and changing the Angle of the weld.
